Vi har hatt fine dager hos Hlin og Siggi, blitt skjemt bort med god frokost, goda senger,
sjarm og fin atmosfere. Lunt og med hjerterom.
Takk også tilSigrun Stefansdottir som fant denne oasen, midt i Reykjavik for oss.
Her kommer vi igen tilbake! Vi ønsker lykke med Siggis 60-årsdags-feiring og håber han blir ferdig med platten.

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. You turned our stay here into a home
away from home.
We enjoyed our day trips out of Reykjavik and were always happy to return to the comforts
and warmth of Forsæla.
Your country is stunningly beautiful and your countrymen are as warm as your country
name is cold!
It is a place of many surprises and we look forward to returning to explore further afield.
Michael and rachel loved it here. They made friends with the entire cat population!

Dear Hlin + Siggi,
We had a wonderful two weeks in Iceland. Yet again (for the 3rd time) your accomodation proved the perfect base
for our daily "expeditions" within and outwith Reykjavik. The highlights of our visit included the Western Islands,
nearby Videy Island, various interesting museums (maritime, settlement, Reykjavik city museum at Árbær and the
national museum), Seltjarnanes, Hafnarfjörður, zoo+family park, many visits to the geothermal pools, seeing KR
play against a Ucrainen team on 15/7/10 and then seaing Breyðablik play against Scottish team Motherwell on 22/7/10,
finally and perhaps the most bizarre highlight on the trip was Hearing Björk singing at the Nordic house on 19/7/10
(unfortunately, we couldn't also see her as it was special event for press only. Troughout these wonderful two weeks
we were blessed with very good weather and most of the time it was clear blue skies and warm sunshine -our family
and friends will probably be surprised to see our tanned skin when we return to Scotland! At the moment we are sad to
be leaving Iceland - but the same time, we are also looking forward to telling our friends + family of the great holiday
adventure we had in Iceland during summer 2010.

That was my forth stay here at “my home in Iceland”. As all the times before I enjoyed my stay a lot.
Thanks for the conversations, the dinner, the trip around Reykjavik, and, and, and...........
To additional things will stay in mind for this stay: The eruption of the vulcano Fimmvörðuháls and the strike of the
airplane meccanics of Iceland Air, which made me stay one day longer.
Stay healty, we will see us next year here in “my home at Iceland” or at my home in Germany.

I and the rest of us would like to thank you for you kind hospitality and warm during our stay at Reykjavik between
February 25 - 28. We have found that when we come back to the house from the wintry weather outside, we really
were at home. It was cozy, warm and nice. Thanks for picking up Evelyn and Mieko when they arrived at Reykjavik.
You were both very sweet and nice.
I will send the group photos that we took with Hlin. Next time around we will love to have the both of you included.
There will certainly be another time soon.
We love you both and if you happened to visit Malaysia, remember us. I will be on hand to reciprocate the care and
warmth that the both of you given to us.

We cannot thank you enough for embrasing us so fully with your hospitality. Your Tours made a HUGE
difference to us and Siggi, your commentary was worth so much more than spending hours poured over books!!!
We’ve had 2 and 1/2days of fascination + excitement. All we have left is to spend our last hours going to the
Blue-Lagoon ( a MUST if, like my husband and kids, you suffer with eczema: last time we did this my husbands
skin stayed clear for 6 months).
HIGHLIGHTS? has to be Siggi + Hlin’s unwawering generosity + patience followed by:
- walking from geological “America” to geological “Europe”.
- Hot-potting + swimming outdoors.
- Gullfoss and the Geysirs.
- Siggy’s commentory + driving.
- Snowmobiling - NOT FOR THE FEINT-HEARTED

Dear Hlin and Sigurgeir,
We got married in September and would like to come to Iceland for our honeymoon in AprilSummer 2009
Takk fyrir for the picture.
Our stay has been great as we were able to see all we had planned to,
and even more, thanks to some advice Siggy gave us (Haifoss,
Solheimajökull, Fjallsarlon...). Unfortunately, the Hekla volcano
didn't erupt... Leaving Forsæla, we went to Pinvellir (before the
hotel bursted into flames...), Geysir and Gulfoss. It was a perfect
sunny day. We came back to Laugarvatn on road F338 and 337. Great
though bumpy landscapes. The rest of the trip was ideal too :
Galtalækur and Landmanalaugar, Svinafell (fog on the Jökulsarlon),
Vik and back to Reykjavik. The families splitted and we went to
Stykkisholmur and Snafælnes for a couple of days to ride horses and
eat fish.
Well, we really enjoyed the whole trip in this nice summer and the
kids really had a good time (they loved going to swimming pools,
seeing horses, snaking around icelandic food... and sleeping late).
Also, starting our holidays by being in a house has made it all more
comfortable and typical.
And if you wish to come to Paris once, let us know, as we might as
well find a "pied-à-terre" for you.

We only booked one night but thanks to coincidence we were so lucky to stay for nine instead!
When I first saw the web-page I thought this would be nice to stay but in reality it was even better!
You've been so helpful with the bookings of our trips, hostels in the west fiords and always in a good mood, never in a hurry.
It felt really good to come back after four nights in the north west - almost like coming home...
Thanks for being our holiday-mum!
Thanks also for the wonderful hiking trip to the hot springs. this was one of the nicest things we did here in iceland -
and the whale-BBQ afterwards...I just can't write down everything.

A "Fish Sup gathering". July the 12th was one of these wonderful
long summer-days that you enjoy most to stay out door as long as
there is day light.
Well that would actually mean for 24 hours and on such a night what
is more delightful than to sit together with friends making a BBQ or
enjoying a tasteful fish-sup. Siggi was the photographer so there is
me, Claudia and Peter from Germany, our next door neighbors and
friends Huld , Thorgerdur and Alfheidur.

Kjæra Hlin!
Tusen takk for ein god velkomst og eit flott opphald her i Reykjavik!
Leiligheita ligg perfekt til med gangawstand til sentrom for store og små óg likevel i et rolig område. Her har ne hatt alt ne treng av utstyr, plass og kunna ordna oss sjælve. Ne har også fått med os gode råd av dig til turana ne hadde planlagt.
Fjelltur med badning i varm elv i Hveragerdi var perfekt!
Den tradisjonelle turist´runden til Gullfoss, Geysir og tingvellir samt Blå lagune måtte ne også få med.
Bryllaupet til bror Leiv var også ei fin oppleving for oss alle! Tur til Snæfellsnes, bading i byen, tur til Helgafell og kanskje den blå lagune på veg til flyrt.
5 dagar er altfor litt. Ne har fått med oss mykji, men vil tilbaka og gå meir i fjellet her!

Vi hade höga förväntningar på Islandsresan.
Sönernas födelsedagspresent till mamma, men förväntingarna överträffades med råge.
Vädret var fantastiskt, Island fantastiskt vackert och du Hlin är en fantastisk gästfri och omtänksam värdinna. Vi har bott trivsamt med ett perfekt läge och varje gäng vi behävt hjälp med något har du kommit och löst problemen.

I felt like I lived here, and I loved this little street too. it reminded me both of home in NY, and also that there is another place across the sea that i can call home too. I’m actually very sad to leave Iceland, but ecxpecially very sad to leave this little red and white house.
Oh well, I guess we will just HAVE to come again in the very nearest future.We saw the most beautiful sightswhile we were in Iceland. Some of the most amazing landscapes I have ever seen. As always it has been a pleasure to stay right next door to the both of
you for my 7th time in Iceland. I want to thank you for the
accommodations as well as temporarily having me as a part of your family.
The Christmas and New Year´s gatherings were great. But I still wasn´t
brave enough to taste the skate!
I hope that future travelers will have as much fun as I did with the
tour that Siggi made with Igor, Lisa and me. I know that saying goodbye
would be silly, that usually means bye forever. It´s just a matter of
time until I find myself back in Iceland!
Hopefully, I´ll be back soon either creating

It is very hard for me to believe that my 2 weeks in Reykjavik will be over. I have had such a
wonderful time that it is very hard to put into words. From the sights
of the city to the Blue Lagoon, to Gullfoss waterfall, the scenary
outside the city......I guess the best word that I could use to describe
is “Magic”. I must also say that I have been made feel quite welcome
here, being a stranger in a strangeland on my first trip to Iceland.
Everyone has been fantastic and I will take great memories home to
Philadelphia, U.S.A. of my time here. Thank you Hlin
and Siggi for being great hosts.

Ciao a tutti coloro che sono venuti a visitare questa meravigliosa
cittá. Siamo Igor e Lisa Benedetti e la nostra esperienza qui a
Reykjavik é stata stupenda. non solo per il fatto che é stato il nostro
viaggio di nozze o luna di miele ( chiamatela come volete) ma perche
sono stati 11 giorni indimenticabili per noi. Siamo riusciti a visitare
gran parte della cittá con le sue numerose chiese, musei e le
innumerevoli decorazioni natalizie. Le illuminazioni sono dappertutto ed
anche per i meno impressionabili sarebbe difficile non rimanere a bocca
aperta. Una caratteristica davvero strana (per noi) é stato il tempo. le
condizioni meteo cambiano ogni 10 minuti e da un momento all'altro
potevi guardare le stelle o trovarti nel mezzo di una tempesta di neve:
in ogni caso il meraviglioso panorama non cambiava. Siamo davvero felici
di avere intrapreso questo viaggio perche abbiamo potuto conoscere due
persone stupende, amichevoli e ospitali come Hlin e Siggi che hanno
saputo consigliarci ed aiutarci ad organizzare le nostre giornate. Fin
dal primo giorno ci siamo sentiti come a casa nostra e per noi é stato
motivo di spensieratezza. Auguriamo a tutti coloro che leggeranno queste
poche rigehe di provare oppure avere provato) le nostre stesse
sensazioni ed emozioni.
